ATHLETIC DIRECTOR

Dr. Lamey is married to his wife Heather with one son, Jack (20), who is entering his Second year of college, competing in Track & Field at The University of the Cumberlands in Kentucky. Dr. Lamey is entering his second year Athletic Director at Hoover High School. This will be Dr. Lamey's fourth year at Hoover and his twenty-fourth year overall in education. Dr. Lamey previously served as an Assistant Athletic Director, Head Wrestling Coach, and Director of Video Operations at Hoover. Prior to Hoover, Dr. Lamey worked for Vestavia Hills City Schools (2017-2020), where he was the Athletic Director at Liberty Park Middle School and taught MS PE and coached multiple sports. Before that, he was at Piedmont High School (2002-2017), where he served in various schools throughout his fifteen years in the district. Dr. Lamey began his career at Saks High School (2000-2001), where he was a Resource Teacher and the Head Wrestling Coach.
